Executive Summary

Police and Crime Commissioners have the statutory responsibility to provide services to support victims to cope and recover, funded through the Ministry of Justice Victims’ Fund. 

Applications for the Grant 

Surrey Police, Victim & Witness Care Unit

  • To award Surrey Police £479,037 for the delivery of the Victim and Witness Care Unit, which provides core victim services. 
  • To award Surrey Police £14,500 for the on-going development and management of the Victim and Witness Care Unit case management system (E-CINS) 

RASASC (Rape and Sexual Assault Support Centre)

To award RASASC £157,912 for the provision of support services to victims of sexual assault and rape. 

YMCA DownsLink Group

To award YMCA Downslink Group £121,500 for the delivery of the Child Sexual Exploitation WiSE Worker Project. 

Surrey County Council

To award Surrey County Council £382,000 for the provision of domestic abuse outreach services, contracted with Surrey Domestic Abuse Partnership.

Surrey & Borders Partnership Trust

To award Surrey & Borders Partnership Trust £126,373.36 towards the Child Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (CISVA) service, which specialises in supporting and providing therapeutic interventions to children and young people who have suffered sexual trauma in Surrey.

Recommendation

The PCC supports the recommended allocation of the Victims’ Fund in Surrey and awards the following;

  • £479,037 to Surrey Police for delivery of Victim and Witness Care Unit
  • £14,500 to Surrey Police for the Victim and Witness Care Unit case management system
  • £157,912 to RASASC for core rape and sexual assault services
  • £121,500 to YMCA Downlink Group for the WiSE Worker Project
  • £382,000 to Surrey County Council for the provision of domestic abuse outreach services
  • £126,373.36 to Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust for the CISVA service.
